Pan was invited to be a speaker at the SHANGHAI NOW! Global Design Conference, organized by ECNU School of Design. The Purpose of this gathering is to illustrate and confront different contemporary points of view on the constantly moving city of Shanghai. The conference will address the question of how to express a personal feeling and understanding of the world around us, through a chosen media, be it an object, a video or a sentence. The intention is also to undertake contemporary problems inspired by the slogan: ”Better City, Better Life”, such as ecology, are cities compatible with natural systems? Or, cultural heritage, how can we preserve our specificities? Opening Conference: SHANGHAI NOW! Invitation to Helsinki Invitation to Helsinki
At the invitation from the mayor of Helsinki, Finland, SHTYPE chief designer Pan Jianfen became the first Chinese artist to formally visit Finland. As a part fo the "Invitation to Helsinki" program that aims to explore the exchange of culture, technology, and design between China and Finland, Pan successfully held a solo exhibition, and was interviewed by ok-do magazine.
